The Moonshadow Team is a group of Friends' Central Upper School students who perform eclipse outreach workshops. The first FCS Moonshadow Team formed in 2017 and traveled to South Carolina for the August 21 total eclipse of the Sun. They hosted several workshops for the residents of Daniel Island and civic groups such as Girl Scout troops prior to the eclipse. On the big day, they held a public eclipse viewing event in Smythe Park, even helping members of the local newspapers prepare their cameras to photograph the eclipsed Sun. The 2023-2024 Moonshadow Team is 27 students strong. We are students from all grades of high school with various backgrounds and talents. The Moonshadow Team has had rigorous training in eclipse literacy and is ready to host free presentations and hands-on workshops about viewing eclipses safely. We are in the Philadelphia area until April 4, when we will head north to Underhill, Vermont for the total eclipse! Book us today to get ready for the October 14 partial eclipse or the April 8 total eclipse. We are happy to come to your school, library or other community center.
